EUROPTEN receives EUR 55 million order from Netz Burgenland GmbH for the construction of a new 42 km 110 kV line

The project comprises the new construction of the 110 kV line from the Oberpullendorf substation to the Rotenturm substation, with a planned construction period from January 2024 to November 2026.

Vienna (OTS) - A line system with a total of 141 pylons is being built from the Oberpullendorf substation (UW) to the Rotenturm UW. The total length is around 42 km and was divided into three construction phases by the client.

At the end of the negotiation process, EUROPTEN emerged as the best bidder for all three lots. The order volume for the entire project amounts to around EUR 55 million.

The Rotenturm substation will be connected to the 380 kV grid of Austrian Power Grid. The line connection from the Oberpullendorf substation to the Rotenturm substation will ensure the expansion of energy generation from renewable sources in central Burgenland.

The route of the planned power line was chosen in such a way that the protection interests of the population, landscape and environment are optimally taken into account. For this reason, the 110 kV line system was subjected to a review procedure in accordance with the Federal Environmental Impact Assessment Act, which was completed without objection.

"EUROPTEN is proud to be making a contribution to the further development of infrastructure and the achievement of climate targets in Austria and is looking forward to implementing this important project for the Central Burgenland region," says Wilfried Rendl, CEO of EUROPTEN.
