The SuedOstLink project is an electricity link between Saxony-Anhalt and Bavaria and will enable the transportation of electricity from renewable energies from Northern and Eastern Germany to Bavaria. This is necessary to guarantee the power supply in southern Germany, as conventional power plants will gradually be taken off the grid.
The line will connect the Wolmirstedt grid node near Magdeburg with the Isar power plant site near Landshut and comprises three lots. EUROPTEN Transmission Germany GmbH has been awarded the contract for lots 1 and 3. The total length of both lots combined is around 14 km. This will involve the installation of 3,750 tons of pylon steel, 47 km of road construction and approx. 390,000 m² of assembly areas, as well as 47 foundations consisting of 42 slab foundations and 5 bored pile foundations.
The company is proud to be making a contribution to the expansion of sustainable power supply and the achievement of climate targets in Germany and is looking forward to implementing this important project. Together with our customers, we are shaping the energy transition.
