Neuenstadt am Kocher News: Grafenrheinfeld - Kupferzell - Großgartach extra-high-voltage line (project 20 of the Federal Requirements Plan), section 3 (Großgartach - Kupferzell)

TransnetBW is increasing the capacity and performance of the electricity grid in north-east Baden-Württemberg and thus counteracting the overloads that are to be expected in the course of the energy transition in southern Germany.

TransnetBW operates a line system between the two substations in Kupferzell and Großgartach, which is currently assigned a 220 kV and a 380 kV circuit. The 220 kV circuit is out of operation. In future, two 380 kV circuits are to be operated between the two substations. For structural reasons, however, the existing line system is not designed to support two 380 kV circuits. It is therefore planned to replace the existing line system as far as possible along the existing route. During the replacement construction, the old pylons and conductor cables will be gradually dismantled and replaced with new, state-of-the-art pylons. The one kilometre wide route corridor runs along the existing 380 kV line from the Großgartach/Leingarten grid connection point in a north-easterly direction past Neckarsulm and Neuenstadt a. K., then in an easterly direction via Ohrnberg, Zweiflingen and Kirchensall to the Kupferzell grid connection point. The route corridor runs largely through agricultural land. The affected property owners were informed about the construction work in advance.

The road construction for the access roads to the pylons and the erection of the pylons is planned from 04.03.2024 to approx. 31.08.2024. The construction work will begin in the Bürg district, Kesseläcker district. The route runs from the Bürg district in a westerly direction to Kochertürn. The construction work includes road construction (graveling of existing grass paths), pole foundation work i.e. foundation construction, raising the new pole with a mobile crane and removing the old pole.

The construction work in the Bürg and Kochertürn districts is being carried out by the company European Trans Energy GmbH from Vienna.

Obstructions and traffic restrictions are to be expected during the construction period.
