Cut of the spade ceremony for the new 110-kV line in Burgenland!

Construction of Netz Burgenland's 110-kV line officially began on July 1, 2024, which will connect the transformation substation in Oberpullendorf with the transformation substation in Rotenturm.

With a line length of 42 km and 141 masts, this important project is intended to strengthen the energy infrastructure in central and southern Burgenland, increase security of supply and intensify the use of renewable energies. This project also enables energy independence with wind, photovoltaics, storage and hydrogen throughout Burgenland.

This construction project should be completed by the end of 2026 and form a fundamental building block for Burgenland's climate goals, “achieving climate self-sufficiency by 2030 at the latest”.

As EUROPTEN, we are proud to be part of this project and, together with our partners Burgenland Energie AG and Netz Burgenland, to contribute to the climate goals in Austria.
