380 kV Salzburg line

The high-performance Austrian high-voltage network is characterized by its ring-shaped arrangement, as it enables customers to be supplied from both sides. The Austrian 380 kV ring - the backbone of the domestic power supply - in western Austria will be closed by the Salzburg line. The 380 kV Salzburg line replaces the 220 kV line from the St. Peter am Hart network node (Upper Austria) to the Tauern network node near Kaprun (Salzburg).
EUROPTEN was entrusted with the implementation of section 5 of the 380 kV Salzburg line. Due to the course of the route through the mountains, this is a particularly demanding construction lot. The work will last until 2024 and include the construction of a new 23 km 380 kV double line and the assembling of 36 supporting towers and 42 dead-end towers.
