MASTER AGREEMENT WITH AUSTRIAN FEDERAL RAILWAYS (ÖBB) ON DRIVEN PILE FOUNDATIONS as of 2019
ÖBB Infrastruktur AG has awarded EUROPTEN a master agreement with a term of 2 years and a renewal option for another 2 years for the construction of foundations for catenary masts, which are mostly set by use of pile driving technology.
Since 1986 the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) have made use of the Austropole [Austropfahl] for the construction of foundations for catenary masts.
In 2018 the Austrian Federal Railways have also adopted the EUROPTEN Concrete Pole for the construction of foundations for signal posts.
With road-rail pile drivers developed by us we can carry out pile driving works under existing overhead line systems during ongoing rail traffic on the adjacent track.
We use a special crane vehicle to set rectangular concrete poles in an economically efficient way.
On average, we implement 80 to 100 projects every year.
Our technologies reduce railway traffic disruptions to a minimum.
